Argentina Trip Recap: Home, Tired, and Full of Stories
Disclosure: Tonadita hosted our trip to Argentina. All opinions are my own.
I left Omaha on Monday, September 28th, fully intending to blog the whole adventure as it happened, a little dispatch each evening while everything was fresh. Then Argentina got in the way, in the best possible manner.
Where the Blogging Went
It went into a six-hour drive across the country with my new friend Gabriel, two languages, and a surprising amount of 80s music. It went into a factory tour, a dairy farm, and a long asado with the Piazza family that didn't wind down until almost 2:00 am. It went into a press conference, an Oktoberfest in the mountains, and a street in Córdoba packed with thousands of dogs on their way to be blessed. By the time I had a free minute, I'd usually decided the better plan was to sit still and take it all in.
What's Coming
We're home now, and I'm finally writing. Over the next several posts, I'll recap the whole trip. The first days in Buenos Aires, a bookstore built inside an old theater, a free botanical garden in the middle of the city, a beautiful Tango Show with Dinner and much more. The long road west, the factory that makes my butter, and the family behind it. Mountain views and Oktoberfest in Villa General Belgrano. And the food. So much food.
Thank you to Tonadita and the Piazza family for the invitation, and to every person in Argentina who made us feel at home. Gracias.
Tomorrow, it turns out, is today.
